Publicly Available Games
If you go here, you can find a list of all Alan games available in the Interactive Fiction Archive. Currently 33 of them, have you played them all?
The games in the list below are the ones I have played so that I can comment on them. They are more or less publicly available, i.e. they can be downloaded from the Interactive Fiction Archive (where you should start looking) or be found on shareware collections, CD's etc. If you fail to find them, first try the author. The list is in some kind of chronological order, the order in which they where brought to my attention that is. Most recent games first, older at the end.
  • No Earthly Use. An Interactive Monoverbal Experiment perpetrated by Greg Ewing for the UseComp in February 2000. It was the single entry in a mini-competition which was inspired by a long and increasingly silly RAIF thread about the pros and cons of the verb 'use' in IF. Clever game that is probably amusing to RAIF regulars, perhaps pointless for others!
  • The Child Murderer. A text/graphics adventure by Michael Zerbo. Shareware.
  • Lost in New York. A joke (?) with a name alluding to the much more worthy _Lost New York_ by Neil deMause. Author Mikko P Vuorinen.
  • The HeBGB Horror! A punkish musical entered in the 5th Annual Interactive Fiction Competition, 1999. Finished 16/37. Author Eric Meyer.

  • Leaves. Simplistic and linear game with the flavour of a teenaged author. Entered in the 1997 Annual Interactive Fiction Competition, finished 29/34. Author Mikko P Vuorinen.
  • A Matter of Time. Time adventure, good start but a bit weak in the end, graphics available on PCs. Author Michael Zerbo.
  • Hollywood Murders. Detective story, good story and absorbing game flow. Author Michael Zerbo.
  • Saviour. Small traditional game set in a deserted industrial building where the last copy of Adventure is said to be kept. Testing game for Alan since 1985! Author Thomas Nilsson.
